With Charles Waldron, President, and Jackie Downs, Harry Hathaway, Arthur Hyett, vice presidents, were the founders of Weoley Castle Workingman's club. I played Football for the club that was managed by Jackie Downs and Harry Hathaway. We played in the Kings Norton league having some limited success but never reaching the Championship

An extension was add to the club with a stage and dressing room for the performers There were many happy occasions in the club, dances, with artists, singers, comediennes, etc.

My father died in 1961 and the cartage toured the local area of Weoley Castle and past the working mans club where many members congregated to pay there last respects.

This e-mail was the result of a conversation with a visitor who's father remembered my father, and that was the reason that made me look up Weoley Castle Workingmen's club Best wishes David Woodman.
